Welcome to 8th grade. My name is Ms. Cid and I have been teaching at Okeeheelee Middle for the past three years. Go Warriors! I am excited to share with you my passion for history. Students will acquire an understanding of the United States within the context of history from the exploration to present day with an emphasis on exploration through Reconstruction, including an examination of Florida’s role. Critical concepts for this course include: geography, politics and government, economics, conflict, religion, ideology, innovations, and human rights. Emphasis will be given to the Sunshine State Standards for United States History. I am looking forward to a productive year.
